Batman- The Dark Knight Rises
As a big DC Comics fan I was very excited to see Batman-The Dark Knight Rises. It's always interesting to me to see the casting of each new Batman movie.
It's your classic fallen hero comeback story. This movie was action packed and I think they did a FABULOUS job with the casting. I'm not a Christian Bale fan but he, indeed, made a great Batman and when I heard that Anne Hathaway was going to play CatWoman, I was not impressed, I, unfortunately, still think of her in Disney's Princess Diary movies where she was such a nice girl so it was hard for me to picture her playing a character like CatWoman. In my opinion, Anne Hathaway rocked the role! Of course it's always nice to see Michael Cain return as Alfred, the faithful and loyal butler to Bruce Wayne.
I walked into the theatre not expecting to love this movie as much as I did The Avengers which was, by far, my favorite movie of the this summer. I figured I'd like this Batman movie, but not love it. I was pleasantly surprised. Turns out it was my favorite Batman yet. You cannot compare Marvel's Avengers to DC's Batman it's simply not fair to either movie. It's not apples to apples. I realized that within the first two minutes. Two totally different movies that should not be compared side by side.
You won't find any spoilers on this blog but what I will say is there were a few predictable moments along with a nice twist to the plot that I didn't see coming and I truly enjoy a surprise now and then. The ending was wrapped up very nicely and made me happy. There's nothing worse than going to a movie and not having a defining answer on the ending.
